Our hook-up comes from our shower. Our bathroom is right behind our fridge, so we just tapped into the cold water line on the shower. We love our french door model with the freezer on the bottom. When we were shopping for it at Lowes, we did see some models that didn't have any ice makers in it, but they were stainless steel. You can still buy a fridge with an ice maker in it, even if water is not an option. Just turn the ice maker off (they have on/off switches).
